Our cotton paper business cards are printed using debossing and CMYK* printing to create a clear and sharp print for an old school Letterpress effect. Cotton paper for printing pressed business cards has a handcrafted and soft textured feel that is both artistic and unforgettable.
Full coverage printing on cotton has a very unique vintage look. The distressed coloring is great for those wanting a different look than normal business cards.
Important Note: This stock is not ideal for people wanting dark and deep colors. Cotton is not able to adsorb those colors, so they will look lighter and distressed once printed. These cards are not ideal for rush orders. If you need speedy business cards, please refer to "Express Business Cards".
Debossing is texture add on, created by pressing IN a portion of your design.
Embossing is texture add on, created by pressing OUT a portion of your design.
Laser Engraving is cutting a portion of your card out using laser technology to create intricate designs on a layer of your card, anywhere on your card.
Die Cutting is precision cutting to allow your card to be any shape you can think of.
Spot UV is a gloss type coating that is applied to only specific areas of your card to give it shine. Raised UV means it is raised in those specific areas, to give it a more obvious look and feel.
Colored edge is paint or foil that is added to the edges of your cards to give it a unique colored edge on all 4 sides.

FAQs
Express business cards are printed on 130# coverstock (uncoated, satin, or gloss) and offer a quick or even next-day turnaround time.
Specialty business cards offer endless options for unique, memorable branding with premium materials, custom shapes (like square or rounded corners), unique finishes (foil, spot UV, soft-touch), and tactile effects, often taking longer but creating a stronger physical impression.
All of our uncoated paper stocks can be written on in pen. This includes our uncoated, cotton, and linen stocks. Because these stocks are more absorbent, pen stays on the stock, but markers such as sharpies can bleed. Our coated paper stocks can also be written on with a few limitations. This includes our silk and suede stocks. These can be written on in a ballpoint pen or sharpie if given a few seconds to dry.
Popularly referred to as Letterpress, our cotton cards give an old world feel. Unlike traditional letterpress cards, we achieve this effect with print and debossing.
Printing full coverage or large areas on our cotton cards will result in an uneven distribution of ink, due to absorbency of the cotton stock. This means that when the ink is applied, it seeps into the stock, and the color can be more saturated in certain areas, almost giving it a subtle watercolor effect.
The ink does not bleed outside where printed, but it is unevenly distributed in the sections applied. This uneven distribution can also be used to intentionally add character to your cards! If this isn’t the effect you are looking for, we recommend going with one of our other stocks, such as silk or suede.
Our cotton stock is a 3 layer, 45pt card.
